The three words three meaning and also having three usages. If you will ask the meaning of these words to an English teacher, he/she will tell you I is Noun used as Subject, ME is a pronoun used as Object and MY or MYSELF is a Possessive Pronoun used either to emphasize something or associate something with I.
Have you ever thought about the difference in these words to a person who has little or no knowledge about English? Why English these are the words available in dictionary of our vernacular languages. Several times I have tried to find answers to these questions. The more I rummage for answer the more I became oblivion to myself.
That is why once I asked this question in slight variation to myself, who am I? Why I am here? What if I was not here in this world? Why I look like this? Why not I am looking like someone else? Whatever I am doing for whom I am doing? And many Why, What, How and other inquisitives to follow. But to be very honest all these questions still remained unanswered and in spite of that, there is no change in my daily routines.
When I look around I found people running on roads, through subways, by buses, by trains, by metros what and what not. Where are they going? To a place called Office, the place will become unknown to them the day when they will complete their prefixed service life or to home, where every one is waiting for him/her with their own agenda to force. This is a fact known to everyone but do this relent them from repeating the set of pre programmed actions daily? No! Then why we run around, probably we are programmed to do like that.
It is difficult to answer. But I think the answer lies well within our questions. When we born we had no control over our gender, intellectual ability, appearance, social background etc. The moment we see the light of this world we have been given a name to identify our self from the cluster of people around us. Then we are told about our identity, what are the behaviours socially acceptable and what are not, whom to give respect or command respect from and the list of dos and don’ts is endless. The day when we enter into school we are told this is what we have to read and this is what we are required to do and there are some thing else not to venture into. Similarly in every sphere of our life we are guided by others not by our inner-self. So as to say we have no identity of ours and like we inherit fortunes or despair from our family we inherit I, Me and Myself from the family & society. We are living in a Matrix – a set of programmed behaviour which most of the time thwarts our inner-self from questioning to social taboos.
Now when we started we had some questions and now we have some answers but honestly speaking I do not have any remedy to this. The activities to which today I am questioning, I myself is a slave of that and finding it difficult to release myself from the incarceration of this web.
Anyway, let us ponder over this and try to find a solution to this problem!
